Becoming a private pilot opens up a world of privilege and possibility, allowing you to travel with your family and friends where you want, when you want, anywhere in the world.
Our experienced instructors will guide you through every step of the process, making the experience fun, safe,and exciting! You’ll fly with an instructor, and by yourself, all over the Bay Area, learning how to land at towered and non-towered airports, fly at night, and plan and navigate a successful journey. You’ll learn about weather, radio communications, and flight planning.
Our beautiful fleet of Cessna 172s are the world’s most popular training platform for new pilots, and our state-of-the art simulators allow you to practice in all conditions.
It typically takes 6-12 months to earn a private pilot license
assuming you fly 2-3 times per week. Students with the flexibility to train more often can advance more quickly and earn a license in just a few months.
Getting your Private Pilot License is the first half of your ticket to freedom. Complete the journey by obtaining an instrument rating.
In the Bay Area, we have morning and evening fog and rainy and overcast days. With an instrument rating you can take off in the early morning and land at night, surf the clouds, travel to Catalina Island, and fly above the weather.
